Kidds take Panama Cruise

Mike and Marga Kidd recently returned from a cruise through the Panama Canal aboard Holland America’s “Zuiderdam.” They were joined by friends Mike and Linda Hewitt of Lake Arrowhead. The two Mikes are retired from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and have been friends 48 years.

Marga says the couples have been on several trips together on all sorts of boats including the Mississippi Queen, Viking River Cruise, Azamara and others. She was very impressed by the Dutch cruise ship Zuiderdam and adds, “This was the first time on a dam ship, ha ha!”

The Kidds began their cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, traveling to Half Moon Cay, Bahamas; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; Cartagena, Colombia; and then passing through the Panama Canal. Their final stop was San Jose, Costa Rica before returning to Fort Lauderdale. They made it home in time to attend the first Meet the Candidates forum at the Senior Center on April 9.
