Women’s Golf President’s Cup 

The Women’s Golf Club announces its 43rd annual President’s Cup Tournament. The three-day net major tournament will be held March 15, 17 and 22. An overall net winner will receive a medallion or diamond. The winner of each flight also will receive a medallion or diamond. Other winners will receive prizes.

To be eligible , a member must have posted six sanctioned club events in the previous six months. Lunch and awards will be held following the final day. Sign up in the Golf Pro Shop by March 8.  For more information, contact Ura Furry at 951-244-1910.

Men’s Golf Spring Kick-Off

The Men’s Golf Club will hold its 2016 Spring Kick-Off and Four Ball Qualifier on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.  The entry fee is $40 per player (cart and green fee not included). Lunch and awards at the Country Club will follow after golf on Sunday.

The format is partner’s best ball both days. Players may pick their own partner and foursome. There will be a four-ball qualifier flight and two member/member flights. This tournament will count for Player of the Year points. Sign up in the Golf Pro Shop.

After Lunch Bunch

The format for last week’s After Lunch Bunch game was 6-6-6, where the foursomes counted one ball on the first six holes, two balls on the second six holes, and three balls on the final six holes. Scores were as follows:

1st – Jeff Roach, Nick Valencia, Lee Lilly and Blind Draw Tom D’Amato, 117

2nd – Tom Fuhrman, Frank Brown, Pete Mortensen and Marv Tweedy, 124

3rd – Bob Stinson, Bill Hallahan, Tom D-Amato and Bob Clow, 126

Skins winners were Nick Valencia, Jeff Roach, Neal Wagerle and Tom Fuhrman. The course record for this 6-6-6 game is 116 set on January 22, 2016 by Roger Kielty, Rich Dawson, Zell Rawlins and Sam Theodora.

Next Week’s format will be Partners Best Ball; golfers may pick their own partner and foursome or enter as an individual.

The After Lunch Bunch is now in the 36th year of providing a Friday game for any male golfer with a handicap. Sign up between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

  • JWC Charity Golf Tournament

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club is hosting its 7th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, March 12, at the Canyon Lake Golf Course. All proceeds go towards the club’s scholarship program.   • Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley’s St. Patrick’s Day 2016 Golf Classic is scheduled for March 18 at Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula. 9ers Golf

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The group meets in the Magnolia Room at 9:30 a.m. each Thursday before heading out to play nine holes of golf. Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.  Members play Wednesday afternoons.
