Evarts’ 1930 Chevy Sedan is Car of the Month

Steve and Joanie Evarts recently purchased this beautiful, very rare 1930 Chevy Sedan and it was selected Car of the Month at the November Car Club breakfast. Steve explains that, in late July, he saw this car on Craig’s list while he was vacationing Squaw Valley.

The ad was only six hours old so he immediately called the seller in Las Vegas and said he wanted to see it. He and Joanie took off the next morning and drove to Las Vegas. After one look at the car, Steve wanted it. He convinced the seller to hold onto the car until he returned from his and Joanie’s European vacation at the end of September.

The car originally was built for the governor of Nevada in the 1980s. It’s had three owners before Steve. The car has a 350 Chevy engine connected to a 350 Turbo transmission. It has power steering and brakes along with Vintage AC and heat. The suspension is original with leaf springs in the front. The paint is a candy apple metallic pomegranate red. New American wheels and Dunlap tires were installed by the previous owner.

Steve would like to thank Pete Delia for the use of his trailer and Carl Farris for help driving to Vegas to pick up the car. He says the car is very fun to drive and get lots of looks, and he looks forward to taking it to many car shows to come.
