This section provides information submitted by Canyon Lake clubs regarding activities and upcoming events. Information should be submitted to news@goldingpublications no later than 5 p.m. Monday.

Woman’s Club

The next luncheon meeting of the Woman’s Club is on October 21, at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. Ladies are invited to come for a social hour and shopping at vendor displays, beginning at 9 a.m.

The speakers are Greg Morrison, Director of Public Affairs and Matt Conway, Education and Outreach Director from the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD). They will be speaking about the drought emergency, the importance of water conservation and how we can reduce water usage.

Ladies are invited to “Put on their Spooky” at this month’s meeting. Lunch will be bratwurst sandwich, potato salad and peach cobbler with ice cream. Chicken or vegetarian salad options are available.

The November meeting is the annual auction. Organizers are looking for new or gently used crystal or silver, new holiday items and baked goods.

The Woman’s Club is a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping others in the community. The club also gives scholarships to local students to help them with college. For more information, contact Membership Chair Sue Collins at 951-246-2773.

Art Association

The next general meeting of the Art Association is Tuesday, October 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center.

Artists who want to participate in the Studio Tour on November 14 are asked to register by November 1 with Carol Davis (818-522-9920, caroldpisces@aol.com) and submit a three-sentence bio with picture to Kristene Robertson (artwired@gmail.com).

The Monday Ad-hoc Painters paint on Monday nights, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Senior Center. For more information, visit www.canyonlakeartassociation.com.

Family Matters Club

The club is getting ready to co-host the inaugural Renaissance Fair at Holiday Harbor on October 17, and also will host the second annual Halloween Carnival at Holiday Harbor on October 31.

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. Monthly meetings are held the first day of the month, unless otherwise noted.

Community Theatre

The annual election for the Canyon Lake Community Theatre board of directors will be held on Tuesday, November 17, at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. Those who would like to run for a position on the board should contact Leslie Vecchione at vizzlealmighty@aol.com no later than 5 p.m. on November 17 to fill out a candidacy form. To vote, members must be in good standing and be at least 18 years of age as of September 18, 2015.

Kids Club

During the school year, Kids Club meetings are held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Sunset Beach Room at the Lodge.

Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Buy a 10-class punch card and get two classes free. Check the Canyon Lake Kids Club Facebook page for details.

Pinochle Club

New members are welcome to join the Pinochle Club, which plays every Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Senior Center. For more information, call Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Canyon Lake Association of Men

The Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS) is an organization that has been in existence for the men of Canyon Lake for the last 42 years. CLAMS welcomes men of all ages who would like to participate in activities promoting the Canyon Lake community. Dues are $25 per year.

Travel Club

A visit to Hotel Del Coronado is planned for December 3 to view holiday displays and enjoy dinner at the Hunter Steak House. The cost is $89 for members and $94 for guests. Only 42 places can be reserved for this tour and the cutoff date is November 1. Call Nyla for details.

Mexico’s “Copper Canyon by Train” is planned for February 19 to 27, 2016. This is not a Canyon Lake-only trip, so reservations are filling up fast. Call Lou DeYoung at 951-244-7100 for details. Check out www.canyonlaketravelclub.org for more information and reservation forms.

Yacht Club

Meetings of the Yacht Club are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Lodge. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the Moonlight Cruise, Progressive Dinner, Lake Clean-Up and more.

Tennis Club

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for Social Play on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m. It is open to all levels of players and is a way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Bible Club

The Bible Club is meeting once again on Thursday nights, at 6:30 p.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church. The meeting room is located behind the stage in the main sanctuary. Richard Cunha will lead the group in a new book. All are welcome. For more information, contact Steve Martin at 951-244-2438.

Ski Club

Water Ski Club

The Ski Club is comprised of water skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. The club hosts several ski competitions and community events, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day, Learn to Ski Days and the Fiesta Day Ski Show.

The Canyon Lake Ski Club began in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the United States. For membership and general information, visit www.canyonlakeskiclub.com.

ShowCal Skiers

ShowCal Skier is a sanctioned club and California’s first and only water-ski show team. The club welcomes all ages 6 and older, since there is a place for everyone, even those not interested in performing. Skills training is taught for all aspects of the ski show, including audio/visual, announcing/hosting, drivers/power team, safety coordinators and equipment.

Ski disciplines include two skis, slalom, barefoot, trick, shoe ski, swivel, ballet, jump, doubles, trios, adagio, human pyramids, ATB, knee board, disc, wake board, wake skate, foil, free-style and hot dogging. Members incorporate all types of performance artistry in their water-ski shows.

CLAWS

All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco on the second Wednesday of the month in the Magnolia Room, downstairs at the Country Club. The cost is $10 per player. Participants are asked to bring canned and packaged food for the community cupboard. Game begins at 3 p.m., please arrive 15 mins early to pick up game card and sign in. Bosom Buddies

The Bosom Buddies mission is to educate, inspire and support newly diagnosed breast cancer patients during their breast cancer journey. Car Club

The Car Club holds meetings the first Thursday of each month at the Lodge. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 6:30. Learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Finger foods will be served and a 50/50 drawing will round out the evening. Roadrunners

Roadrunners RV Club dinner meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6. Twirler Square Dance Club

The Twirlers meet on Wednesday evenings in the Holiday Bay Room at the Lodge. There is a workshop for experienced dancers from 6:15 to 7 p.m. This is followed by the Twirlers Class from 7 to 9 p.m. with instructor Vic Kaarie. Former dancers are always welcome. Dress is casual. Jr. Women’s Club
