Canyon Hills Stater Bros offers special cart

Parents and caregivers of special needs children and adults will be pleased to learn that the Stater Bros store in Canyon Hills has obtained a grocery cart for handicapped individuals unable to walk. The seat accommodates all ages, children through elderly.

“To all the special needs parents this is huge,” says Jessica Puckett, who began a letter-writing campaign in March 2013 asking for the cart. Her son Slater suffers from cerebral palsy.

Jessica says Stater Bros keeps the cart locked up, so those who would like to use it should call ahead of time.

“We have a large community of moms with children and adults who can’t walk that this grocery cart would benefit,” she says. “You can call Staters and tell them where you’re parked and they bring the cart to you. It’s just an amazing thing they have done for our community; we’re the second in California.”
