Senior Chair Volleyball Club scores two wins

In their first “win,” more than 100 members of the Senior Chair Volleyball Club and their friends were on hand at the Storm game August 12 to cheer on Connie and Ray Beal as they threw out the night’s first pitch.

Club spokesperson Pat Engelhardt says, “Connie and Ray are among the founding members of the Canyon Lake Senior Chair Volleyball Club, and it is because of their ongoing optimistic spirit, inspiration and commitment to the Chair Volleyball family that they were chosen for this honor.”

Amid resounding cheers from family, club and community members, Connie made a perfect tactical toss of the ball to Ray, who then executed a curve ball right across home plate. “As usual the Beals worked as a team,” says Pat.

For the club’s second “win,” Ilee Menzer, president of the Senior Chair Volleyball Club, presented the Canyon Lake Veterans Committee with a check from the club for $200 as part of its commitment to the community.

Pat says, “The Veterans Memorial in the Towne Center, the yearly celebration, as well as ongoing recognition of veterans in the community make this committee an ideal recipient.”
