Steve Jacobs

Steve Harold Jacobs, 72, of Canyon Lake, passed away on August 3, 2015 at Hemet Acute Care Center. He was born to loving parents Harold and Lois Jacobs in Bremerton, Washington on April 6, 1943. He had eight siblings: two brothers, Rod and Tony (deceased), and five sisters: Beatrice, Kathleen, Patricia (deceased), Grace and Rochelle.

Steve was married in 1986 to his devoted wife Cindy. He has one son, Steven, and two stepchildren, Ryan and Kelly. He also has four beautiful grandchildren: George, Aiden, Grace and Caroline, all of whom he loved very much.

Steve was brought up in a logging community. He lived in Washington for 35 years working in the forests, felling trees, driving logging trucks down the mountain, working on bulldozers, driving buses and even opening his own beer nightclub in Kent, Washington.

He moved to Southern California in 1978 to get rid of his “webbed feet.” He went to work for JT Jenkins Kenworth and became the parts manager and later general manager. He enjoyed his time there with this family-owned business. JT Jenkins sold the business and Steve moved on to become the sales manager of Cruise America RV for several years. He later moved to Riverside and worked for Mike Thompson and the Richardsons in Sun City. He sold a lot of motor homes but never wanted one himself.

Steve enjoyed golfing with his buddies every weekend and later moved to a community with a golf course where he played with his wife. He loved watching his favorite teams play sports – Dodgers and Seattle Seahawks. Bowling was another favorite pastime.

Steve was a spirited and easygoing man. He loved life and his family. He will be missed.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at the Canyon Lake Country Club (32001 Railroad Canyon Rd., Canyon Lake CA, 92587) on August 17, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
