The Canyon Lake Library’s Summer Reading Program is coming to a close and officially will end tomorrow, August 1; those who are still reading to earn their basic program prizes may turn in their logs before the Library closes at 3 p.m.

More than 400 people participated in this Summer’s program, designed to encourage children to continue reading over the Summer. The final drawing for the extra reading prizes took place Monday, July 27, along with a special magic program presented to a large crowd of children and adults by Ian Galloway.

The Library will return to its regular schedule of activities Monday, August 3, starting with the Toddler Story Time at 11 a.m. and Spanish Time at 3 p.m.

Spanish Time is for children in grades K-5. It is a time to enjoy fun with Spanish words and their uses. Since it isn’t a class, children can come any time. The one-hour program is held on the first and third Mondays of the month at 3 p.m.

On Wednesdays at 11 a.m., the Library hosts the Canyon Lake Knitters. This group is open to all ages and abilities for those who have an interest in knitting or wish to learn. School age children are welcome.

The Library is located at the back of City Hall in the Towne Center. Hours are Monday, 10 to 7; Wednesday, 10 to 6; Friday, 10 to 6; and Saturday. 10 to 3. For more information, call the Library at 951-244-9181.
