Woman’s Club installs new board members

The Woman’s Club held its last meeting of the 2014-15 year on June 17 at the Lodge. The club gave donations to 15 various philanthropic organizations and awarded scholarships to eight high school seniors and three Canyon Lake women who are continuing their education.

Joanna Spiller and Barbara Weatherman installed the new board members for 2015-2016. The past presidents who could attend the meeting also were honored.

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club has been in existence since 1972. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated  to the enrichment of the community and helping others less fortunate.

The club will not have meetings in July or August; however, members can look forward to a new year in September. The club will host the Mermaid Festival in August, which is designed to provide fun for the community and raise funds for the club’s many endeavors.
