Sarena Hernandez excels at TCHS

Sarena Hernandez, soon to be a sophomore at Temescal Canyon High School, is the daughter of Michelle Hernandez and a top scholar athlete at TCHS.

Playing for the Freshmen Girls’ Basketball Team, Sarena was awarded the Sunbelt League All-Academic Award for her 4.0 GPA. As captain, she led her team in a 6-4 season, and was named 2014-15 Offensive Player of the Year.

Sarena was involved with Triple Threat, a girls’ youth basketball program that helps instill confidence, commitment and integrity to young girls through the game of basketball.

Sarena also was a member of ASB her freshman year.

On May 18, she received the Temescal Canyon Academic Award that put her in the top 20 for the Class of 2018.

She credits her mother and grandparents for being her biggest supporters and guides through life’s tough obstacles. Sarena is excited to play junior varsity basketball this summer.
