Letter: Unnecessary Help

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

When I recently called for help because I needed oxygen due to a smoke inhalation induced asthma attack, I asked for an ambulance. Why did three firefighters and big equipment arrive in five minutes when the requested ambulance arrived in 10 minutes? I felt bad about the unnecessary waste. How many fires have actually been tended to by our expensive firefighting force? I wish we had a fire department that didn’t come unnecessarily.
