Roadrunners at Shadow Hills

Members of the Roadrunners Club got a way for “a little fun” from May 18 to 22 at the Shadow Hills RV Resort in Indio. Twenty-rigs made the journey. Members took advantage of the meeting room and game room at the resort as it was quite windy during their stay.

The resort also had shuffleboard, a large pool and hot tub, a lily pond and a big area for grilling.

Many of Roadrunners took a tour of Coachella Valley Farms, led by Jeff Percy. Jeff took them around several of the fields, explaining the procedures for growing bell peppers, sweet corn and eggplant. He also gave them a chance to ask questions and pick one each of the vegetables.

Some members played golf at Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort in Palm Springs. Weather was very windy but warm. Committee members arranging this trip were Jim and Phyllis Lippen, Monti and Patti Baxter, Bob and Bonnie Carnagey, Fred and Donna Hemborg and Ray Kary Lee Perry.
