Golf in Ray Chenette Tourney on May 30

The Ray Chenette Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Friday, May 30, at the Canyon Lake Golf Course, hosted by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce. All golfers and Canyon Lake organizations are invited to participate. Check-in is at 11 a.m.; the shotgun start is at 1.

The tournament is an important fundraiser for the Chamber in its efforts to support Jr. Golf and Chamber members throughout the year.

This year’s event will be a “Scramble-Ramble” format. The first 13 holes will be scramble format and the last five holes will be best ball format.

There also will be a “tournament within the tournament.” Any organization that is in good standing with the City can play for the Ray Chenette Perpetual Trophy. Each club or organization can assign one foursome to this challenge. “This trophy will give them bragging rights for the year, and they will be asked next year to defend it,” say organizers.

Along with the club/organization tournament, there will be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall.
