The Miss Canyon Lake Scholarship Program has begun accepting signups for the pageant that will be held on May 16 at the Lodge. The next signup date will be Wednesday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the Pool View Room at the Lodge.

Pageant Director CoCo Morrison says there will continue to be signups and rehearsals every Wednesday in April. The last day to sign up will be April 29. Janelle Basham will be the assistant director.

The age groups are 5 to 25. Anyone competing for Miss Canyon Lake needs to be a senior in high school or currently attending college.
The Miss Canyon Lake Scholarship Pageant is a tradition that has been ongoing for many years in Canyon Lake. Coco explains that this program emphasizes the ability of the Royal Court and Talent Court to participate in community service, volunteer service and education. Contestants aged 15 and older will be required to have interviews, known facts about their community, and have a platform outlining a community service or volunteer program that they will bring and organize within Canyon Lake.

There is also a Talent Competition portion of the program; however, this is optional and not a requirement to be in the pageant.
