City Council to appoint new member on January 21

The City Council invited registered voters in Canyon Lake to apply for the seat vacated by Nancy Horton after she was elected to the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Board of Directors. Applications needed to be turned in by January 5. Those who turned in applications are Marvin Adler, Paul Chenette, Danielle Coats, Larry Green and John Zaitz.

A special City Council meeting for the appointment of the new member will be held January 21. The person selected to fill this seat will sit on Council for the two years remaining in Nancy Horton’s term. That person will join Mayor Jordan Ehrenkranz, Mayor Pro-Tem Tim Brown and newly elected Council members Dawn Haggerty and Vicki Warren.

Council members serve on the following local and county committees:

Councilwoman Dawn Haggerty serves on the Public Safety Committee, Public Works Committee and the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC). She also serves on the CLPOA Board of Directors.

Councilwoman Vicki Warren serves on the Water Committee, Veterans Committee, Economic Development and Healthy Cities Committee, Lake Elsinore San Jacinto Watersheds Authority (LESJWA) and Riverside Transit Agency (RTA).

Mayor Pro-Tem Tim Brown serves on the Administration and Finance Committee, Planning Committee and Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA).

Mayor Jordan Ehrenkranz serves on the Western Riverside Council of Government (WRCOG), Southwest Cities Coalition, League of California Cities, Southern California Association of Government (SCAG) and Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District.
