Letter: Main Gate

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

Gone is the unique, iconic, artistic waterfall that, for generations, was the key feature everyone looked for when entering Canyon lake. Also gone are the beautiful, wonderful trees that provided shade for the autos as they entered and added a soft natural feel to the entrance.

Now we have an entrance that, some say, looks like a gas station entry. The current structures resemble toll booths, and their most notable aspect are the air conditioners placed in front of them.

While the amount of money spent on this change is a shame, the real loss to our community is the iconic waterfall and fantastic shade trees that greeted us and visitors alike. The feel of “A Bit of Paradise” they provided is gone forever.

We elected directors hoping they would spend our dues wisely and spend it on things we wanted. Had they allowed us to vote on this plan, as they should have, we would not have approved the plan. Then again, that is the reason they did not allow a vote. What a shame.
