Save date for Father’s Day weekend car show

Families who would like to give Dad a treat on Father’s Day weekend are invited to the 2nd annual Lamb’s Fellowship Car and Motorcycle Show on Saturday, June 18, starting at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Lamb’s Fellowship, 21901 Railroad Canyon Rd. Several Canyon Lake businesses and the Canyon Lake Car Club are among the trophy sponsors of this event, which undoubtedly will feature vehicles belonging to several Canyon Lake residents.

Organizers say this year’s show is expected to feature 200-plus cars, motorcycles, dragsters and “some famous hot rods.” The live bands Crimson Crown and The Retreads will be performing, along with music provided by DJ JC McKenzie of the DJ Company. In addition, food, drinks, Wolfee’s Donuts, Hawaiian shaved ice and other snacks will be provided by a variety of food vendors and food trucks.

There will be bounce houses for kids, a pie-eating contest, a dunk-the-pastor tank, and  drawings for prizes from local merchants.

Executive Director Paul Kakis says, “Since the show’s inception in 2014 with a small parking lot show made up mostly of members of Lambs Fellowship Church, it has grown to an event that draws participants and vendors from as far as Northern California, Arizona and Utah. With 200-plus registered vehicles and over 50 vendors, it has quickly become the favorite for many local car clubs and merchants.”

Last year’s show raised $6,000 for Dream Center of Lake Elsinore, a volunteer-driven organization that has as its mission to “restore and rebuild the people and property of Lake Elsinore physically, emotionally and spiritually.” Paul says proceeds from this year’s car show also will benefit children’s ministries.
