Caregivers will get chance to ‘Ask the Doctor’

Are you a man or woman who provides care for your husband, wife or parent? Anyone caring for a loved one for illnesses such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, heart issues or Parkinson’s is invited to attend Caregivers Connection, a support group that offers an opportunity for caregivers to share common problems, needs and experiences.

The group meets in room C6 at Canyon Lake Community Church on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 10 a.m. to noon.

On May 9, those attending the meeting will have the opportunity to “Ask the Doctor” when Dr. Leslee Cochrane facilitates an open forum during which attendees will be given the opportunity to ask medical related questions.

According to the doctor, topics frequently discussed include Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, medication questions and heart disease as well as how to manage patients with dementia and behavioral issues.

This Caregivers Connection meeting will take place in Room D130 at Canyon Lake Community Church from 10 a.m. to noon.

For more information, contact the group’s facilitator Jo Ann Wickerath at 679-7736 or her assistant Bev Haney at 244-8711.
