Canyon Lake artists’ work displayed at fundraiser

Canyon Lake Art Association members Marilyn Latimer, Rhonda Strickland and Barbara Perryman exhibited artwork in the fashion and art show charity event at the LFW Foundation’s Women’s Expo and Fashion Show on April 2 at the Outlets at Lake Elsinore.

LFW is an independent non-profit organization founded in honor of Leona Ford Washington, whose mission is to help high school students succeed. The event helped raise money for children and women.

Local models, local beauty pageant winners and students modeled donated clothing and carried artwork as artist bios were announced. For more information about LFW, visit www.LFWfoundation.org.

The Canyon Lake Art Association welcomes new members! Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Senior Center and are open to the public. Guests are welcome to come and sit in on a monthly artist demonstrator.

The next monthly meeting is Tuesday, April 26, featuring demonstrator Carol Landry. She will show the use of light, temperature and color while doing a 16×20 loosely painted rooster in acrylic. This meeting will be a potluck. Members are encouraged to bring a dish to share. CLAA has painters, digital artists, photographers, ceramicists, sculptors, fusion glass artists, etc. Membership is for individuals 18 and older, but all are welcome to attend and bring their art to share.

The Canyon Lakes Art Association invites residents to mark their calendars for its “Art at the Lake” show at the Senior Center on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
