Scouts learn about law enforcement, local history

In Cub Scouts, scouts must complete certain assignments in order to achieve and advance in rank.

Over winter break, Pack 346 Bear Scouts had the opportunity to visit the Lake Elsinore Police Station, where they were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility as well as various procedures the officers must follow. They learned how officers are scheduled for duty and got to view inside the evidence room. The scouts also experienced sitting in both the front and back seats of a squad car.

Afterwards, they celebrated their achievement of being the top popcorn sellers by having a pizza party at My Buddies Pizza.

Earlier this month, Bear Scouts visited the Motte Museum in Menifee. The old Motte Barn was a place to purchase produce and candy. Today it’s a home to classic cars from the 1910s to 1960s as well as having pictures and artifacts from the Motte family and Menifee Valley history. The scouts were treated to a tour of the facility by owners Leon and Darlene Motte.

Pack 346 is the Canyon Lake/Canyon Hills/Tuscany Hills Cub Scout Pack and boys 1st through 5th graders. For more information on Pack 346 contact socalpack346@gmail.com or 951-363-3346.  New scouts are welcomed throughout the year.
