Electronic signs went up at the Main Gate this week with a notice to “Use East Gate February 1 to April 30.”
The Association has announced that the Main Gate renovation is scheduled to begin February 1. The project has an estimated 60-day timeline, with the contractor phasing the work to ensure there are as few interruptions and traffic delays as possible.
General Manager Christopher Mitchell says, “The goal is to keep at least one entrance lane and one exit lane maintained at all times. Traffic control measures will be made a priority. Residents and their guests are advised to use the alternate East and North Gates to avoid and reduce traffic delays entering and exiting the community.”
This project was approved by the CLPOA Board of Directors in August 2015. The general items of work to be done include new guard booths, replacing the gates and improving the roadway, median and landscaping. In addition, a small building will be added next to the parking lot of the Senior Center to house electrical equipment and provide storage space and restrooms for staff.
More information and updates on this project will be posted on the Association’s website, www.canyonlakepoa.com and the Association’s Facebook page @canyonlakepoa.

Work to replace the picnic pavilion at Roadrunner Park began Wednesday, with workers starting to remove the roof of the existing pavilion. During this time, the park will be closed and signs will be posted to notify residents.
Roadrunner Park also is scheduled to get a permanent restroom, though the construction date has not been announced.
At Holiday Harbor, workers are scheduled to complete the new playground installation by the first week of February.
At press time, there was nothing new to report on the Dog Park planned for East Port Park.
