Family Matters to offer water fun, neon glow

A meeting of the Family Matters Club will be held today, May 31 , from 2 to 5 p.m. at Indian Beach. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. The Club will provide pizza and beverages. Everyone is invited to bring water toys of all types. The Club will have several paddle boards and kayaks available for those who don’t have either.

Family Matters has a fundraiser going with See’s Candies to order candy online and avoid a trip to the store. The deadline to order is June 3, and all orders can be picked up at 29873 Mayflower Dr. on June 13. Gift wrapping is available at no charge. This is a gift idea for dads and grads while, at the same time, helping Family Matters raise funds for philanthropic works. For details on placing an order, check the Canyon Lake Family Matters Facebook page, call Shawna Bowen at 714-394-4885, or e-mail clfmclub@aol.com.

The Family Matters Club invites everyone to “Cosmic Carnival,” an after-dark neon glow party to be held  at Holiday Harbor on Saturday, June 27, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. There will be a glow maze, photo booth, games and more.

Neon T-shirt coloring will be offered for $5, as well as neon glow face/body painting at various prices. There will be a contest for the “most glowing!” The snack bar will be open and will offer some foods that will “light up the night!” There is no cost to attend this event; however, children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent.

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. Monthly meetings are held the first day of the month, unless otherwise noted, and revolve around a fun theme with speakers, games, prize drawings, crafts, snack and social time. Locations vary.

The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and to raise funds for future events and to provide philanthropic donations. For more information, visit the Family Matters Facebook page or call 714-394-4885.
