Community Water Conservation Festival is tomorrow

In an effort to show that water efficiency can be simple, worthwhile and even fun, water districts throughout Western Riverside County will host the 13th annual Community Water Conservation Festival on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Big League Dream Sports Park, 2155 Trumble Rd. in Perris. This interactive event will provide entertainment for children and will provide families the opportunity to learn how to conserve water in their daily lives.”

The first 100 people in attendance will receive free water-saving items. Participants may take part in drawings that will run during the event; prizes for the drawing include a water-efficient toilet, rain barrels, drip kits and smart irrigation controllers. The Partners in Water Conservation, a coalition of water agencies in western Riverside County, will provide residents with information about water-
wise landscaping ideas, retrofitting outdoor irrigation equipment and Inland Empire garden-friendly plants. Master gardeners and landscape architects will be there to answer questions.

Vendors will be available to provide demonstrations and information about: weather-based irrigation controllers, moisture sensors, high-efficiency toilets, drip irrigation systems and other water-efficient technologies.

Information regarding the various rebate programs from each participating water district also will be available.
