Charles “Charlie” Morrison, a longtime resident of Canyon Lake, passed away on April 5, 2012. Charlie was born in Los Angeles on November 5, 1950. He grew up in Glendora and graduated from Glendora High School and Citrus College.
He worked in the grocery industry for over 30 years – for Lucky's and Albertsons Supermarkets.
His first daughter, Vanessa, was born in 1980. He married his wife, Paula, in 1986 and they moved to Canyon Lake in 1987. Their first daughter, Natalie, was born in 1987, with their second daughter, Andrea, following in 1991.
Charlie’s three daughters were the light of his life and he was always there to support them, whether it was coaching their softball teams or cheering them on in their many years of dance competitions. One could frequently find him on the Lake with his daughters and a boat full of kids, enjoying the day wake-boarding and just cruising around Canyon Lake.
Charlie's favorite place to vacation was Lake Powell and he would go there frequently with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, basketball, Nascar and going to the horse races.
In addition to his wife Paula, Charlie is survived by daughters Vanessa, Natalie, Andrea; his mother Jane Crockett, of Ashland Oregon; his brothers, Mike and Bob, and his sister, Barbara; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at the Links at Summerly Golf Course, 29381 Village Parkway in Lake Elsinore. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV), 33751 Mission Trail, Wildomar, CA 92595.
