Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) soon will begin a sewer improvement project in Canyon Lake. Construction crews will be installing 944 feet of 12-inch diameter sewer force main pipeline in a small portion of Canyon Lake Dr. South and Early Round Dr. The project will improve Canyon Lake’s sewage system by reducing or eliminating sewage odors near Pintail Dr. and Early Round Dr., while meeting the community’s long-term sewage needs.

Construction on the Early Round Dr. Sewer Force Main Project is anticipated to begin in late March or early April and last approximately three to four months. Construction work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Officials say that, although construction and traffic impacts should be minimal, residents in the area may temporarily experience increased noise, traffic, dust, sewer odors and parking restrictions near the construction area. Access to residents will remain available at all times. Residents are encouraged to use caution and drive slowly through the construction zones at all times.

The project calls for restoring pavement to pre-construction condition. Total project cost is approximately $306,000.

According to EVMWD Community Liaison Jill DeCriscio, EVMWD is committed to communicating project information to impacted residents throughout construction. A project fact sheet has been developed and mailed to residents near the immediate construction area. Additional copies can be found at the Property Owners Association and City of Canyon Lake offices. Construction alerts will also be developed and distributed to residents to announce upcoming project activities. A Construction Hotline is available at 893-7116 for any questions or concerns about the project. Calls received after normal business hours will be returned between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
