Editor, The Friday Flyer:
I read a letter a few weeks ago where Andrea Moreno was thanking the community and setting the record straight regarding the departure of her position at the Lodge. I had personally done business with her many times in the past, and recall her as being very professional. I left with only positive feelings. (I must say, that isn't always the case while doing business with other employees). I also recall seeing a picture of her at the POA office showing her being Employee of the Month.
I understand she was told her position was eliminated. Yet, a young man has taken over that position and informing callers he has replaced Ms. Moreno. I find that interesting since the position was eliminated.
Now I hear a human resource personnel was let go after 27 years, as well as six maintenance workers, one who had worked here 16 years.
I am all for getting rid of waste, but why are they choosing longstanding good employees? Who are they being replaced with? I believe length of employment and good employee reviews are always to be considered. So why are they not here? That is the real question.
After all these employees have been let go, our dues are probably still going to go up and be higher then they were before this all started last year. Again, interesting! What happens to that big $15 savings?
I smell something rotten here. I smell special interest at work. Am I the only one?
