Editor, The Friday Flyer:

I believe last week's dark humor piece, Letter to the Editor “Open Carry,” is a direct response to Larry Neigel’s public comment in The Friday Flyer telling everyone that it is lawful to carry a gun inside our private community. This comment came from one of our so-called security experts. The letter from Larry was totally irresponsible and unacceptable from a Board member.

The rest of the Board should ask for his resignation and expel him from the Safety Committee. He also believes, “The only reason a member would be shot by an armed security guard is if that member threatened another member or officer with a gun.” Really! Try and Google accidental police shootings.

And yes, we do have 24-hour protection by law enforcement. You can call 911 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and they will respond appropriately. Canyon Lake has 22 hours per day on site and the two hours not on site is the sheriff's changing of officers' shifts from the Perris station.

Looks to me like everything in Larry’s letter was bogus. To use his words, “it amazes me” that he could make those comments, especially since he believes he is an expert in his field. Sounds to me like his particular field has been plowed.
